Summer Picnic
Since 1990, Families Exploring Down Syndrome has hosted a summer picnic. Members, and their families and friends, enjoy an afternoon of good food and fun. There are games and prizes for the kids. The adults enjoy making new connections, or reconnecting, in a casual, relaxed atmosphere. It is an enjoyable day for all, and we hope you will join us at our next picnic.
2010 Summer Picnic is August 1st
This year's picnic is on August 1st at Nelson Park in Sterling Heights, on 15 Mile Road between Ryan and Dequindre. We will start to gather at 11:00 am, with lunch at noon.
Each family, as well as each of their guest families, should bring a dish to pass, for at least 10 people, according to the following schedule based on your last name initial:
- A - G: Desserts (cut into serving pieces, please)
- H - O: Hot sides (baked beans, pasta, cheesy potatoes, etc.)
- P - Z: Salads (pasta, veggie, tossed, taco, Jell-O, etc.)
Other things to bring:
- Your cold beverages (not provided)
- Lawn chairs or blanket
- Sunscreen & insect repellant
- Canopy or sun umbrella (there isn't a lot of shade)
- Lawn games
Please - No pets!
