Appreciation Night

The first Families Exploring Down Syndrome Community Appreciation Awards Night was held in May of 2005.

We host this event every other year to tell those who mean a lot to us and our child that we appreciate them. Each FEDS family is allowed to nominate one individual who has made a difference in the life of their child with Down syndrome or to their family or community.

Each nomination requires a letter describing why the person deserves to be recognized and honored in 250 words or less. These letters will be read and published in a keepsake booklet for the person nominated, to cherish.

We handle the invite and the RSVP and do not tell the nominee who nominated them until Appreciation Night. FEDS will supply a gift, a fun evening and food for all, the night of the event which is held in May at the MISD. You and your family need to mark your calendar to share the honor with your special person on Appreciation Night.

In the past some of the people who have been nominated:

Doctors Grandparents Coaches
Teacher Relatives Para pros
Special Ed Directors Neighbors Siblings
Therapists Business people

Start thinking nomination possibilities and watch the newsletter for the announcement of the next Appreciation Night.

Everyone is invited to attend regardless if you nominate anyone or not.
